This little guy has saved me a ton of time. Dropped nuts and bolts deep down in places that only this camera could see and made it easy to find them to retrieve. screen resolution is clear and the best thing is u can rotate the view. Love it!

I do a lot of engine work at home as a hobby and this comes in handy. It allows me to pull a spark plug and look into cylinder walls for inspection. Also works great for looking into walls at home. I think for the price point, this is nice. Now the only thing to see if how long this thing is going to last. It comes with a USB-C charging wire, but you need to have the charger to plug it into. I highly recommend

Works amazingly well. Used it to check cylinder walls. It showed piston damage but it also showed a crack! A must have for any mechanic. I plan to check out our air ducts next!

We got this for my husband to use for inspecting clogged drains.

It arrives ready to use in a carry case.

It seems to be very well made.
The handheld itself is solid.
The cameras are well built and protected in their housing.
The case is sturdy.

To test it out we used it down our neighbors drain that has been causing issues for months.
We had to feed it down slowly until we found the problem.
It ended up being a bottle cap.
We used the hook attachment to pull it back out of the drain.
We went slow and it came out the first try.

We would buy this again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very handy tool for homeowners and professionals

It wasn’t that long ago that a borescope like this was a high priced tool that only a professional would have access to. Now there are many options open to DIY’ers and homeowners at very affordable price points. This Hiacinto triple lens unit is a great example and one that I have already found to come in handy.

I was recently trying to trace down the source of water damage to one of my ceilings. There is a whirlpool tub over the area and I initially suspected the one of the supply valves was leaking. With the Hiacinto scope, I was able to first snake the camera through an access panel opening and confirm that the supply lines were in fact dry, I then drilled a small hole in the ceiling (already water damaged) and was able to find the problem was at the drain line between the floor and ceiling.

This is the first time I used a bore scope and I found it very simple and intuitive. The cable is semi-rigid and will self support for a distance, but if you have a long way to go, it can still droop a bit. I found that I needed to use a long stick to help guide it if the distance was much more than 2 or 3 feet. The Hiacinto comes with a 16.5 foot cable, which at first sounds great, but to be honest, that is probably more length than you will typically need for home inspection tasks and it does make it a bit more awkward to control and guide the camera end.

The 3 camera positions are a great feature allowing you to look to either side of the of the direction that the cable is “pointing”. This is actually essential since you would be limited to just straight ahead views without it. The 3 camera version gives you more options and if you only had two cameras you would need to spin the cable around its long axis to align with your desired view, once the cable is snaked down a long length, this can actually be trickier than it sounds. One complaint is the responsiveness of the control buttons when switching views. It often took multiple presses to get the view to switch, which can be extremely frustrating when you are holding the unit with one hand and the cable with the other. You can also rotate the perspective on the screen by toggling through a set of options. This can help you to orient your view.

The base unit has a nice hand grip and is easy to hold, but there is no way to set the unit down and have it be self supporting with the screen at and angle that is convenient for viewing. It would be extremely handy if you could have two hands free to tweak the position of the cable while watching the screen, but the unit tends to fall over face down.

The image quality is good, but not great. I call it adequate to task, but no better. It can be hard to get the tip in just the right position to both get the angle you need and to have the image in focus, but this is just the nature of working with long semi-flexible cable operating through a small opening.

Of course, image quality will also be a function of the available lighting in the enclosed space. There are three lighting levels available, but the difference between them is minimal and to be honest, a bit more light would be helpful.

You can easily snap pictures and videos to have a record of what you are viewing with a touch of a button. The pictures then can easily be transferred to your PC with the supplied USB cable. I was also impressed that the unit came equipped with a 32GB micro SD card already installed. That is a rarity for most consumer grade electronics and was just one less thing to be sure you had on hand before using your scope.

The scope also comes with a variety of hook attachments that can be attached to the end of the cable and used to hook onto and fish out objects. I can see that this might be a handy feature, but I did not try it out myself (and I suspect it might be easier said than done).

Overall, I would say that the Hiacinto is a good if not perfect tool. It is simple to use and priced at a point that a homeowner can afford. It also would can come in handy for a contractor or other professional that had occasional need for the ability to inspect hard to access areas.
